Post Database Creation
After the database creation wizard has created the database and closed, the user
will have to set the environment again. This is necessary as PBM Client needs to
load the newly created database connection. After setting the environment, a menu
item titled "Open Database" will now be available.
Also of note is the fact that there are menu items for "Unset Environment" and
"Lottery Installer". The unset environment will be off use as new lottery modules
become available as a user would need to unset the powerball environment before
a different lottery environment can be opened. The lottery installer menu item
will be be used to open lottery modules and installing the plug-ins for the added
lotteries.
After opening the database, the main PBM Client user interface will be loaded. The
user will then need to connect to the database by clicking on the connect button.
After the database connection has been established, blue bars will appear on both
sides of the main window.
If the blue lines disappear, PBM Client has lost it's connection to the database.
PBM Client will always automatically connect to the internet when it is initially
started, and check for any table updates. This process can only occur if an
internet connection is open, otherwise, if no internet connection is found,
the update process will not occur.
If an internet connection is not available, table updates can be downloaded from
the this site, and installed manually clicking on the file update button, and
pointing the open file dialogue to the zip file containing the table updates.
After checking for updates, PBM Client will load the for most recent drawings, and
list the database connection details in the status bar area.
