SETTING THE ENVIRONMENT
After the initial setup, there will be an icon on the desktop labeled Powerball
Manager Client. Each time Powerball Manager client is launched, the environment
has to be set.
Setting the environment establishes certain environmental variables that are
specific to each lottery system installed.
selecting the set environment option will execute and open dialogue box displaying
the directory where the lottery data files are stored in separate folders. In this
case Powerball is the only lottery system available.
Double clicking on the powerball directory will open that folder, bring the user
to a single *.PMD file with the lottery name. In this case that file is labeled
POWERBALL.PMD.
After double clicking on the PMD file, the open dialog window will close returning
the user back to the main PBM Client window. If this is the first time that PBM Client
has been run, the next step will be to create a database and establish a connection
to that database. If the database has already been created, the user will now be able
to launch the database connection.
